I am Alexandre Mury, a multidisciplinary visual artist born and living in São Fidélis, Brazil. My work spans photography, performance, drawing, painting, sculpture, and urban intervention, grounded in a constant urgency to problematize and re-signify the signs that shape identity, culture, and art history—three realms that serve as both reference and challenge throughout my practice.

I use the body as both material and stage, employing performative self-portraiture to deconstruct traditional notions of selfhood. I create a dramaturgy where I appropriate characters from popular culture, myths, historical figures, and even elements of nature, weaving hybrid, fragmented narratives charged with poetic and political tension. My art dances between the sacred and the profane, irony and reverence, the sublime and kitsch.

Photography for me is not mere documentation; it is an act of creation that transcends recording to become visual sculpture, living painting, theater, and intervention—an expanded experience that pushes the boundaries of contemporary art. My urban and digital interventions broaden this dialogue, converting everyday spaces and virtual platforms into arenas for new forms of reading and participation, inviting the viewer to revisit their cultural paradigms.

None of what I do exists outside the present moment, yet to create true art, I dive into memory, echoing the past while inhabiting the now, mixing historical icons with the living culture of daily life. Above all, my work is an invitation to reflect on what it means to be, to represent, and to resist in a world that perpetually tries to imprison identity within fixed molds.

I am in constant transformation and experimentation because I believe art only lives when it provokes, challenges, and opens paths for the audience to also reinvent themselves. My trajectory is marked by this drive to reinvent the gaze on what has already been given, exposing fissures and new possibilities that emerge from the tension between tradition and rupture.

Sou Alexandre Mury, artista visual multidisciplinar nascido em São Fidélis, RJ, onde vivo e crio minhas obras que transitam entre fotografia, performance, desenho, pintura, escultura e intervenção urbana. Trabalho com o corpo como matéria-prima e palco, usando o autorretrato performático para desconstruir a noção tradicional de eu, propondo uma dramaturgia onde me aproprio de personagens da cultura popular, mitos, vultos históricos, e até mesmo elementos da natureza, para criar narrativas híbridas, fragmentadas e cheias de tensões poéticas e políticas. Minha obra é uma dança entre o culto e o banal, a reverência crítica e a ironia mordaz, o sublime e o kitsch.

A fotografia para mim não é mera documentação, é um ato de criação que ultrapassa o registro para virar escultura visual, pintura viva, teatro e intervenção—uma experiência expandida que desafia as fronteiras convencionais da arte contemporânea. Minhas intervenções urbanas e digitais ampliam esse diálogo, convertendo espaços cotidianos e plataformas virtuais em campos para novas formas de leitura e participação, onde o espectador é convocado a revisitar seus próprios paradigmas culturais.

Nada do que faço existe fora do tempo presente, mas para criar arte verdadeira preciso mergulhar na memória, reverberar o passado enquanto habito o agora, miscigenando ícones históricos com a cultura pulsante do cotidiano. Minha obra é, sobretudo, um convite à reflexão sobre o que é ser, representar e resistir em um mundo que constantemente tenta aprisionar a identidade em moldes fixos.

Estou em constante transformação e experimentação, pois acredito que a arte só é viva quando provoca, desafia, e abre caminhos para que o público também se reinvente. Minha trajetória é marcada por esse impulso de reinventar o olhar sobre o que já nos foi dado, expondo as fissuras e novas possibilidades que emergem da tensão entre tradição e ruptura.
